Philadelphia Eagles Trade Quarterback A.J. Feeley

Saturday February 21, 2004
The Eagles have apparently reached an agreement to trade backup quarterback to the Miami Dolphins once the NFL trading period begins on March 3. Since Feeley is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent on that date, an essential part of the deal is Miami's ability to reach a contract agreement with Feeley and his agent prior to that date.

In exchange it is report on CBS Sportsline that the Eagles will receive a second round pick in the 2005 NFL Draft.

Feeley rapidly became a fan favorite in Philadelphia not only because of his boyish good looks and charm but also because he became the hero of the Eagles 2002 season when he stepped in for injured quarterbacks Donovan McNabb and Koy Detmer to go 4-1 in the Eagles final five games.

For quite some time, Feeley was once of Philadelphia'a most eligible young bachelors, however, he has for some time now been dating Heather Mitts, now a member of NBC 10's sports department. Mitts is well known as an all-star defender for the 'Philadelphia Charge' in the Women's United Soccer Association, and has played several times on the United States National Team. She also served as an alternate for the 2003 World Cup.

Feeley follows former Eagles backup quarterback Jay Fiedler to the Dolphins and seems to be in a good position to win the Dolphins starting quarterback job.
