It is said that location is one of the key parts of a restaurant's success. It was, therefore, with mixed feelings that my wife and I decided to try the new Charlie Brown's Steakhouse in the Springfield Square Shopping Center on Baltimore Pike just east of the Springfield Mall. Two of our favorite restaurants, Fuddruckers and Caffe Belissimo, had previously occupied this location and had closed due, in part, to lack of business. My family of four went to Charlie Brown’s in Springfield last Friday. I was a little taken aback by the lack of any kind of dress code whatsoever. As we entered, we were seated right away. Our waiter came to the table and asked if we would like soda, lemonaid, iced tea, milk, twister - we were never offered anything from the bar. My husband and I are in our fifties and my sons are 22 and 26. I ordered a drink and when my son asked if you had Guiness, the waiter asked me, not him if he was 21. When I said yes, did he want id, he said he did from both my sons, both of whom look their age.
Our salads came out quickly but the rest of the meal was served in SLOW MOTION by two different people. The food was good, but the clientele that the restaurant is attracting would deter me from returning. There was a man at the open salad bar with shorts, suspenders and a tank top (translation, open armpits in the salad). I guess that’s not your fault, but I personally feel that a salad bar attracts that type of person. Don’t know that I’d return.
i personally love charlie brown’s. The foof is quick and great and the people are very friendly. There was no disrespect among the waiters or the people and the service was quick. The kids meal play sheet kept the people at the table occupied.

THE SERVICE IS FAIR. THE FOOD IS GOOD. CLEANLINESS NEEDS TO BE WORKED ON. THERE SHOULD BE A CASUAL DRESS CODE. THERE SHOULD BE DRINKS FROM THE BAR WITHOUT LICQUOR IN THEM (VIRGIN WHISKEY SOUR). MY MOTHER CANNOT HAVE LICQUOR, WE ASKED FOR A VIRGIN WHISKEY SOUR AND WERE TOLD THAT THAT WAS NOT POSSIBLE.
