Ikea, the Swedish household furnishings retailer whose North American headquarters are in Conshohocken, came to the rescue of the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade when Boscov's, a department store chain in the Mid-Atlantic region that declared bankruptcy in August. The parade was begun in the 1920's by a member of the Gimbels family, owners of the now-defunct department store chain that for many years was the top rival of New York City's Macy's which sponsors their own parade.
The company replaces Boscov's, a department store chain in the Mid-Atlantic region that declared bankruptcy in August, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported. Boscov's had warned WPVI-TV, the Philadelphia ABC affiliate, that it might not be able to reorganize in time to sponsor this year's parade. WPVI, owned by Disney, broadcasts the parade and is its other sponsor.

Our 11 year grandson Anthony McDonough, who’s visiting us from Florida, is walking with his cousin Jacob Graham and his Uncle Andy Graham, with the boy scouts of Delaware Valley
in the Thanksgiving day parade.
I just thought you might like to know the dedication of the boys scouts.
Happy Thanksgiving!
My boy scout troop is also marching in the Ikea Thanksgiving Day Parade in Philadelphia. I am the Senior Patrol Leader for Boy Scout Troop 63 located in Villas, NJ. It’s quite an honor to usher in Santa Clause in Philadelphia.
Villas is located in Cape May County
