Philadelphia Area Man Beheaded in Iraq
In the tragic end to a story that has been in the local news for several weeks, Nick Berg, a civilian contractor who traveled to Iraq seeking employment, was reported executed by an Iraqi extremist group. Berg's body was found on a highway overpass in Baghdad on Saturday. A video of the execution was featured on the Muntada al-Ansar Islamist website on Tuesday. Berg's family resides in West Chester, PA.

Berg had been missing since early April. He was in Iraq for the second time in 2004 seeking employment rebuilding communication antennas. He was arrested by Iraqi officials in late March for undisclosed reasons, but was released on April 6. His family last heard from him on April 9, at which time he told them that he planned to return to the United States.
