Eagles Football 1999

It's only a few weeks now until the Eagles begin their regular season on Sunday, September 12, 1999 against the Arizona Cardinals.

It is said that pre-season means little, but anyone who has seen the team's first two pre-season games cannot help but worry about the total lack of offensive punch. The Eagles have scored one touchdown in eight quarters of play. Of particular concern they have shown an inability to score once they get in the red zone.

On the positive side, the team's defense continues to play well. In addition, their new kicker, Norm Johnson, was perfect in last week's game against the New York Jets.

The sports fans of Philadelphia could surely use some excitement right about now. The Phillies have pretty much played themselves out of the wild card race ever since their All-Star pitcher Curt Schilling went onto the disabled list. We're still a way off from the beginning of the Sixers and Flyers seasons.
