Fattach also has two children from a previous marriage, daughter Frances, 31, a lawyer; and son Chaka Jr., 24.

Fattah attended city public schools, the Community College of Philadelphia, the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School and the University of Pennsylvania's Fels School of State and Local Government where he earned a Master's Degree in Government Administration.
