As outlined on Dwight Evans' Web Site:
- Public Safety - "Dwight Evans believes the most important function of city government is to provide for the safety of its citizens...With more than 406 homicides and more than 2000 shooting victims last year, there is no debate: murder and violent crime in Philadelphia are simply out of control. Dwight offers real leadership on this issue, a record of achievement and hope for the future."
- Education - "Education is paramount to Dwight Evans and his record demonstrates a commitment to children that dates back nearly three decades. Beginning with his first job as an elementary school teacher in the Philadelphia public schools to his current position as chairman of the state House Appropriations Committee, Dwight has fought to improve the quality of education in public schools."
- Economic Development - "Philadelphia's economy faces enormous challenges. This city is growing too slowly, losing too many residents and falling behind other cities in workforce quality. Some of the city's challenges stem from structural changes in the economy, others from the legacy of national public policy...As mayor, Dwight Evans will lead the charge in solving the core issues that hold the city back from real economic growth and capitalize on our intrinsic advantages."
- Helping Working Families - "As Chairman of the state House Appropriations Committee, Dwight Evans understands more about budgeting than most people. And he knows that in today's world, many hardworking folks struggle each day to make ends meet...(In the legislature) he was a vocal advocate for raising the minimum wage; battled big utilities on behalf of consumers; and took on the banking industry, all in an effort to ease the burden on working families."
- Our Philadelphia - "With the exception of the Governor, Philadelphia has no greater champion than Dwight Evans. Dwight has delivered millions of dollars to his hometown for public safety, economic development, education and culture; created or saved thousands of jobs; and worked to better not just his district, the but the whole community."
- A Greener Philadelphia - Block by Block - "How we maintain our environments - our buildings as well as our natural environment - directly impacts the safety of neighborhoods. Highlights of Evans' plan to make Philadelphia a national leader in energy and environmental policies include:
- Creating a Philadelphia Conservation Corps
- Treevitalizing Philadelphia
- Investing in Fairmount Park
- Creating a regional Fresh Food Initiative
- Creating environmental benefits districts
- Make City buildings and schools more energy efficient and reduce carbon footprints
- Greening the City fleet
- Expanding the dramatically successful RecycleBank program citywide
- Taking a Stand for LGBT Issues - "Philadelphia has a long and proud history of openness, acceptance, and equality of opportunity. Just as we were home to the first steps of freedom over 200 years ago, Philadelphia should again lead the nation in ensuring equality for all individuals regardless of race, color, creed or sexual orientation."
- For Seniors - "In Harrisburg, Dwight Evans Supported:
- The Expansion of the Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program
- The Establishment of the PACE Plus Medicare Program
- The Expansion of the PDA Waiver
- The COLA for the Family Caregiver Support Program
