Christoph Eschenbach continues The Philadelphia Orchestra's Mahler symphonic cycle with the biggest, loudest, and grandest of all. Nicknamed the 'Symphony of a Thousand' for the sheer size of its performing forces, this gargantuan work is half festive church hymn, half romantic fantasy.
