The Southeastern Pennsylvania area is home to many farms that hold annual fall or harvest festivals where you can pick pumpkins, make your way through corn mazes and take a hay ride. At many locations you can also enjoy those special fall food treats.

September 15 - October 28

Festivities include: Land of Scarecrows, hayrides out to the 20-acre orchard for fruit picking, Forest Adventure Corn Maze (open Sept. 7 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday), labyrinth walk, Halloween Hollow Playground and bouncy inflatables. Visit the chickens, ducks, geese and ponies, Pick out your fall mums. Make your own scarecrow. Taste their homemade carmel and candy apples, fresh apple cider, a variety of delicious fruit pies, fruit butters, honey from hives on the farm and much more.

Directions: From Philadelphia take I-95 north to exit 46A. At the bottom of ramp, make a U-turn (yes, it's legal) Snipes Farm is on the right, after the U-turn.

Admission is $7 per person, pumpkins are sold by the pound. PumpkinFest Festival activities include hayrides to the Pumpkin Patch to pick-your-own, inflatable amusements, Shady Brook Farm Express trackless train rides, live entertainment, The Barn of Horror, Jr. (a less scary version of their night-time attraction) and giant corn maze.

Directions: Take I-95 to Exit 49 (Newtown/Yardley). Follow Route 332 west 1/4 mile to traffic light. Turn left onto Stony Hill Road. Their entrance is 1/4 mile down on the right.

HorrorFest

Attractions include: Hayride of Horror ($12) - a spine-tingling ride through acres of thrills with theatrical performances along the way, Barn of Horror ($12) - the ultimate haunted "house" walk through and Alien Invasion where horror meets the 21st century with lots of special effects. Call for prices.

Haunted Hayride opens on Friday, September 28, at dusk with live entertainment and band. Open from dusk until 10:00 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and dusk until 9:00 p.m. on Sundays.

Directions: Located 3 miles north of Newtown. Take Rt. 532 N. from Goodnoe Dairy Bar to Highland Road. Make left to farm.

Each weekend will feature great entertainment as well as a 5-acre corn maize, the Corn Walk of Horror, a hay maze, Li'l Peepers Hayride - an evening hayride with family-friendly Halloween scenes, and, of course, a pumpkin patch.

Directions: Take PA Turnpike East to exit #343/PA-611 onto Easton Road (PA-611) towards Doylestown. Go 6.9 miles and take a left on Bristol Road.
