Larger than life figures and scarecrows illustrate the legends and lore of the harvest season, local history and some of the many stories of pumpkins and apples. Over 100 tons of pumpkins are piled in all shapes and sizes along with a huge selection of straw bales, corn shocks, fall decorations of all kinds, masks, costumes and toys. The festival features live music and entertainment, hayrides, train rides, pony rides, face painting, straw bale and cornfield mazes, pick-your-own apples, candy and caramel apples, Costume Parade, Jack-o-lantern exhibit, the Linvilla Grill, Costume and Halloween Shops.

Directions: From Philadelphia take I-95 south to Exit 6 (352/320-Widener University). Follow signs for 352 North. Follow 352 North for approximately 4 miles through Brookhaven Borough. Look for the Pathmark/K-Mart Shopping Center on your right. Continue about 1/2 mile to the next traffic light, which is Knowlton Rd. Turn left onto Knowlton Road. Linvilla Orchards is 3/4 mile on the right.

Activities include: hayrides to Pumpkin Patch, Farm Zoo, pony rides, sand and button art and mini-golf. Purchase cornstalks, Indian Corn and gourds. Taste their funnel cake, cider and gourmet ice cream. Pig Races are held every Saturday and Sunday at 1:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m.

Directions: From Philadelphia: Take the Schuykill Expressway (Rt. 76) North to exit 476 E (Blue Route) to the Northeast extension of the Turnpike. Go North to Exit 31 (Lansdale). Take a left after the ramp, and then proceed straight for 1 mile. Freddy Hill will be on your right hand side.

Pick-you-own pumpkins at this organic farm from late September through October.

Directions: Take Route 76/Schuykill Expressway West to Route 422 West towards Pottstown. From Route 422, take the Trooper/Audubon Exit (Route 363). Go through the town of Trooper, following signs for Route 363. Go through the intersection of Route 363 and Germantown Pike. At the next traffic light, turn left onto Stump Hall/Township Line Road. Willow Creek Orchards is located approximately 3/4 of a mile on your right just past the intersection with Hollow Road.
