Live 8 Internet, Television and Radio Broadcast Information

America Online (AOL) holds the exclusive online rights to Live 8 and will stream all five (Philadelphia, London, Paris, Berlin and Rome) of the July 2, 2005 concerts live on the Internet. In addition the concerts will be available on demand for six weeks following the event. More information can be obtained at AOL Music: Live 8 on AOL.

America Online has also licensed the rights to broadcast Live 8 to Viacom Inc.'s MTV Networks, Clear Channel Communications Inc.'s Premiere Radio Networks and XM Satellite Radio Holdings Inc.

  • MTV, VH1 and mtvU, MTV's college network, will simultaneously carry Live 8 on July 2 to a potential worldwide audience of more than a billion people.
  • Live 8 will be carried live on XM Satellite Radio and the Premiere Radio Networks.

While no deal is finalized ABC television most likely will air an 8 to 10 p.m. special on July 2, 2005. Nokia would be the sole sponsor of the broadcast.
