Overview:

Founded in 1925 as Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary, the collegiate division began in 1932 and was chartered as a four-year college in 1952. It became Eastern College in 1972 and then Eastern University in 2001. The Seminary of the University was renamed Palmer Theological Seminary in 2005.

Eastern is a co-educational, comprehensive Christian university that integrates faith, reason and justice for its students in undergraduate, graduate, Seminary and accelerated adult programs.

Location:

Eastern University's main campus is located on a scenic 92-acre suburban campus in St. Davids, PA just west of Philadelphia with three lakes, wooded walking trails and protected wetlands.

The Palmer Theological Seminary is located in Wynnewood, PA.

The Campolo School for Social Change and Esperanza College of Eastern University (formerly NECHE) are located in Philadelphia.

The School of Management Studies and the School of Leadership and Development are located in Valley Forge, PA. Additional campuses are in Washington D.C. and Ripley, WV.

Academics:

Eastern offers degrees in: Bachelor's, Post-bachelor's certificate, Master's, First professional, Doctorate. The School of Arts and Sciences offers 35 majors and 38 minors.

The most popular majors are: Elementary education and teaching, Psychology, Youth ministry, Business administration and management, and Communication studies/speech communication and rhetoric.

Student Body / Faculty:

There are 3,700 students enrolled in the School of Arts and Sciences, Templeton Honors College, Campolo College of Graduate and Professional Studies, Palmer Theological Seminary and Esperanza College. Eastern has 1,998 full-time and 279 part-time undergraduates.

There are 115 full time and 275 part time faculty members.

The university has a student to faculty ration of 15:1.
