Founded in 1884, Temple University is a comprehensive public research university based in Philadelphia.. Temple University is the 28th largest university in the United States and the sixth largest provider of professional education in the country. Temple has four city campuses, including the flagship Main Campus (25,420 students), Health Sciences Center (2782 students), Center City Campus in Philadelphia (1059 students) and the School of Podiatric Medicine. Temple has a major suburban campus - Temple University at Ambler (2651 students), and a suburban art campus - the Tyler School of Art in Elkins Park (747 students). The University has an education center in Fort Washington, a Capitol campus in Harrisburg and international campuses in Tokyo, Japan, and Rome, Italy.
