Cibucan Celebrates Four Years, Opens For Lunch

Tasteful Tapas And Mid-Day Mojitos

by John Fischer
for About.com

Celebrating its fourth year as a tapas and Mojito dinner destination, Cibucan Restaurant opens its doors for lunch. Patrons no longer have to wait until dark to enjoy the famously shared tapas with friends or colleagues. Chef Owen Lee’s perfected individual plates lend patrons to want a taste of everything, and this sharing of dishes is exactly what the Cibucan menu allows.

Added to this experience are authentic Mojitos, a refreshing rum drink infused with sugar cane, which offers the perfect refreshment between bites. Sangriá lovers can also enjoy red or white wine sangria by the pitcher. The sangria is freshly made every day with brandy, tropical juices, wine, and seasonal fruit.

The traditional way of serving tapas as a variety of small dishes has made eating them an adventure. The best of Latin dishes are regulars on Cibucan’s menu. Patrons are encouraged to indulge in this variety and take in the best that Latin cuisine has to offer, for lunch:

  • Beef and chorizo burger with yam frites
  • Red snapper tacos
  • Pork and pear empanada with pineapple salsa
  • Chile filled with goat cheese and grilled mushrooms

"We set out to create an inviting atmosphere that transports you into a relaxed, free mindset" said Francesca Prieto, owner." This is a restaurant where people can look forward to exploring a new dish during every visit, and know that each dish is prepared exquisitely. Lunch was a natural way to extend the tapas style of eating to our customers. The size and variation on the menu won’t allow anyone to be bored- its about having a positive adventure every time." And with the perfected Mojitos menu, lunch goers are also invited to take the rest of the day to relax, with a mindset that is far away from mid-day and the office.

Cibucan Restaurant + Bar is located on 2025 Sansom Street, off of Ritttenhouse Square. Hailed as the best tapas in town and the best after-work cocktails destination, the restaurant extends the invitation to lunch goers. Cibucan is open for lunch Tuesday-Friday from 12-2:30 pm and for dinner beginning at 5:00, seven days a week. Telephone: 215 231-9895.
