Also available in Franklin Square during operation hours will be food vendors, crafts, and merchandise kiosks. Food vending, a taste of Philadelphia favorites, will be provided by J-Dogs and Lix Ice Cream, selling hot dogs, Philadelphia soft pretzels, ice cream, cookies, and drinks.
The crafting tents will showcase both colonial and modern-day Philadelphia crafts in exhibitions and live demonstrations, highlighting the neighboring community with Old City artisans and Chinatown. Check the Once Upon a Nation website for scheduled exhibitions.
The merchandise kiosks will sell a variety of Once Upon a Nation and Franklin Square memorabilia, including the Little Souls "Colonial Collection," the newest product offering by the Philadelphia-area artisinal doll company. The Colonial Collection includes well-known faces of the nation's earliest days - George Washington, Ben Franklin, Thomas Jefferson and Betsy Ross, as well as Quaker spy Lydia Darragh and Underground Railroad heroine Harriet Tubman.
A portion of the sales of Colonial Collection dolls will be donated to Once Upon a Nation, to ensure that our nation's many and varied stories continue to be told in Philadelphia's historic district.
