Nightmares on Broad Street will be the largest, most-interactive haunted Halloween experience unlike anyone has ever seen before in Philadelphia," said Comcast-Spectacor Senior Vice President John Page. "This will be one of the most talked about events in the nearly 40-year history of the Spectrum and it will set the new standard in Halloween adventures as we convert the entire Wachovia Spectrum into the largest thrills and chills scream park."
Nightmares on Broad Street features incredibly interactive hair-raising, gruesome sets, mind baffling haunted mazes and horrifying movies making this event, hands down, the most scariest event of the Halloween season. During a self-guided tour of "Nightmares on Broad Street," patrons will encounter numerous live performers as mummies, ghosts, ghouls, goblins and other surprises, including feature attractions The Freezer, The Mummy, Van Helsing Experience Live and The Freak Show in 3-D all found in a morgue-like setting.
The Van Helsing Experience Live serves as the intimidating entrance to the 70-minute, self-guided haunted and bone-chilling extreme scream park and features a 25-foot tall and 40-foot wide facade. Created by over 30 stagehands, the attraction resembles a gothic castle complete with gargoyles and two watchtowers.
Nightmares on Broad Street features the latest techniques in special effects and technology to provide guests with a physical, psychological and visual scary experience, but an overall ghoul time.
"We've created a scare threshold that's suitable for all ages," said Lynton V. Harris, creator, executive producer, and director of Nightmares on Broad Street Extreme Scream Park. "There truly is something for everyone. We like to say our show is suitable for ages seven to dead - and if you're dead, you're probably in our show."
More than 100 energetic, exuberant, and enthusiastic performers have been hired to portray roles in one of the four main attractions throughout the scream park.
