New Year's Eve Fireworks at Penn's Landing and Wiggins Park
December 31, 2007 will end in sparkling delight as Philadelphia's 17th annual free New Year's Eve fireworks show is presented at Penn's Landing.The 2007 edition of the Delaware River Port Authority's New Year's celebration continues its tradition of ringing in the year with the largest New Year's Eve fireworks show in the country.
Seen easily on both sides of the Delaware River at midnight, this year's production weaves a tapestry of color choreographed to music. The overall music track is scored to evoke anticipation and above all fun.
The overall music track will be simulcast on KYW Newsradio 1060 and KYW-HD and is scored to evoke anticipation and fun. Additionally, the entire Greater Philadelphia / South Jersey region will be able to enjoy the fireworks because the entire show will be broadcast live on CBS 3 (KYW-TV) for television viewers.
There are many outstanding locations for viewing the fireworks for free on both sides of the Delaware River highlighted by the Great Plaza at Penn's Landing and Wiggins Park on the Camden Waterfront.
The fireworks are free, courtesy of the City of Philadelphia, the Penn's Landing Corporation and the Greater Philadelphia Tourism Marketing Corporation.
New Year's Eve Fireworks Aboard the Battleship New Jersey
This year there are two ways for you to enjoy New Year's Eve aboard the Battleship New Jersey.- Spend the Evening
Once again the Battleship New Jersey will be open on New Year's Eve for some prime fireworks viewing and New Year's Eve countdown. Festivities begin at 10:30 p.m. Tickets are just $7 and all proceeds benefit the ship's restoration and educational efforts. There will be refreshments (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and food available for purchase. Be sure to dress for the weather. To purchase tickets in advance, call 856-966-1652 x108. Tickets will also be available or at the box office that night.
- Spend The Night
The Battleship is taking reservations now for its annual New Year's Overnight Encampment. Families can enjoy the unique encampment experience, plus a toast at midnight and the best view of the fireworks over the Delaware. Just $59.50 per person. Call 856-966-1652 ext. 203. All reservations must include children between the ages of 6 and 17. No children under the age of 6 can participate.
Blue Cross RiverRink New Year's Eve Party on Ice
Fireworks at Penn's Landing are a grand New Year's Eve tradition and the New Year's Eve Party on Ice at the Blue Cross RiverRink is a fun-filled way to celebrate. It's great for all ages and ideal for families as a non-alcoholic way to ring in the New Year.- The 14th annual New Year's Eve Party on Ice will take place from 11 p.m. until 1 a.m. The Blue Cross RiverRink at Penn's Landing is located at Columbus Boulevard at Market Street.
- Great food, fun activities, and live entertainment in the heated indoor facility, along with ice skating and a perfect view of the midnight fireworks over the Delaware River, make this party one of the most unique in Philadelphia.
- Tickets to the Party on Ice, presented by the Philadelphia Coca-Cola Bottling Company, are only $30 for skaters and $20 for spectators. Tickets can be purchased in person at any skate session Monday - Saturday until 9:00 p.m.
- Advanced parking passes are also available for purchase.
- Special holiday skating sessions on December 31 are: 10:00 a.m. to 12 Noon; 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.; 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.; 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.; 8:15 p.m. to 9:45 p.m.; and 11:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. Special holiday hours continue on January 1 with sessions at 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.; 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.; and 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
