Difference Between Garage Sales, Tag Sales, Yard Sales and Flea Markets
A Step-By-Step Guide to Shopping at Garage Sales, Tag Sales, and Flea Markets
As winter comes to a close and spring arrives, so does a great season for garage sales, tag sales, yard sales and flea markets in the Greater Philadelphia and South Jersey area.

Generally garage sale, tag sale and yard sale are all different names for the same type of sale, usually held at someone's home either in their driveway, in their garage or own their front lawn. Flea markets are more organized events often run by charities, churches or other groups. While you'll find individual sellers at flea markets you'll also find lots of dealers whose merchandise is hardly cheap.

Almost every Saturday the neighborhood streets of the Philadelphia area are filled with the cars of eager garage sale hunters looking for that special bargain or hidden gem for themselves, a friend, to give as a gift or to resell on eBay.

Surprisingly, many garage sale hunters still just cruise the neighborhood around their homes searching for signs on telephone polls directing them to a nearby sale. While this approach may yield some results, it is much more effective to have a good garage sale, tag sale or yard sale plan. In this feature we'll offer our tips for finding and smart shopping at local garage sales, tag sales, yard sales and flea markets.
