Following several days of heavy rain both around Philadelphia and to the north, the Schuylkill River and Delaware River from Philadelphia and north reached and surpassed flood stage on Tuesday, June 27. These photos were taken around noon on June 28 when the Schuylkill River had risen approximately five feet. It was expected to go much higher later in the day and into June 29, 2006. We include photos of some of the flooded areas as well as photos taken the week prior when the river was calm so that you can compare the conditions.
