Farm Markets, Flea Markets, and Even a Touch of the Wild West

Cowtown Flea Market, Pilesgrove, NJ - Open Tuesdays and Saturdays 8 a.m.- 4 p.m., all year 'round.

At the other end of the shopping spectrum, you can indulge your inner cowpoke at Cowtown Cowboy Outfitters in Woodstown where you can dress your home and yourself in the best of the west. Chances are you've never even heard of Cowtown, but believe me, it's one of my favorite destinations in the region. If you headed down to Woodstown to see their huge scarecrow display around Halloween, you probably drove right past Cowtown and wondered what it's all about.

If your shopping list includes a prize bull or quarter horse, the Cowtown Livestock Auction in Pilesgrove can solve your problems. But if you are looking for something more mundane, drop by on Tuesdays and Saturdays when, by its own admission, everything imaginable is for sale at the Cowtown Flea Market. My wife and I consider this the best Flea Market in the region and always come home with bags of bargains whatever time of the year we visit.

New Jersey's not called the Garden State for nothing and South Jersey farmer’s and flea markets live up to the nickname. The Columbus Farmer’s Market and Berlin Farmer’s Market are among the largest, featuring home grown produce along with all manner of treasures, both old and new.
