An exciting new exhibition has opened at the National Constitution Center entitled Lincoln: The Constitution and the Civil War. The 2,500-square foot exhibition highlights the three constitutional crises that Lincoln faced as President: Secession, Slavery and Civil Liberties during the Civil War.

The exhibit is the first to be held in the Center's changing exhibition space which will next host the Benjamin Franklin: In Search of a Better World exhibition beginning on December 15, 2005. The Lincoln exhibition will run from now through November 4, 2005.

The exhibition has been made possible by a $1 million grant from Lincoln Financial Group as part of its 100th anniversary celebration. As most local residents realize Lincoln Financial Group has become a one of the city's major financial service institutions and employers since relocating its headquarters to Philadelphia in 1999. Lincoln is well known for it's support of the arts and culture, education and human services as well as through its purchase of naming rights to Lincoln Financial Field, the home of the Philadelphia Eagles NFL football team.

The National Constitution Center has become a major attraction in the city's historic district since its opening on July 4, 2003. It's permanent exhibits and the Annenberg Center for Education and Outreach have been hugely popular. The opening its changing exhibit area with Lincoln is an exciting addition to this world-class facility.
