An honor guard of Revolutionary War soldiers and colonial women accompanied the Normandy Bell in its trek from the National Constitution Center to Independence Mall outside of the Liberty Bell Center where it was rung for the first time on U.S. soil at the annual Let Freedom Ring Ceremony.

Along the route an honor guard of sailors and officers from the USS Cole lined Sixth Street from Arch Street to Chestnut Street. The sailors then gathered to attend the ceremony where they were honored for their service to the Nation.
